Part 9.2:

Dunedin - Otago Peninsula - Dunedin

We had not got enough from the famous Otago Peninsula wildlife yet. So we followed the coastal driveway, looking for more.

Birds en masse.

A gazillion of sheep.

Purple swamphen Pukeko ran around.

We enjoyed the "Black Swan Lake" ballet.

We were also waiting for someone...

... and they came at twilight.

Blue Penguins!

They walked among still standing people, heading for their nests. The penguins also taught me the limits of my photo equipment.

Looks like a sin? It really is one. Photographic sin. This is an autofocus help light from some other shooter, hitting the helpless penguin into its light-sensitive eyes. This shooter was immediately banished by human volunteers.
